Welcome to ABC Islands!
The ABC Islands consists of three islands:
Aruba,
Curacao and
Bonaire. They are part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands but they are not part of the European Union. The ABC Islands are located in the
Caribbean just off the Venezuelan coast and they are the most western islands of the Leeward Antilles. Of the three islands, Curacao is the largest, stretching 64 km (40 mi) from southeast to northwest and is approximately 16 km (10 mi) at it's widest point. The island offers plenty of recreational activities such as fishing and sailing. It also has several beaches where visitors can relax and soak up the sun. Curacao has a strong Dutch influence but the island is made up of a mix of nationalities. The second largest island is Aruba with a length of 33 km (20.5 mi). Of the three islands, Aruba has the driest climate. The island offers miles of beaches, resorts, casinos, shopping and restaurants, making it a very popular island to visit among tourists. The smallest of the three islands is Bonaire. It is so small, there is no need for any traffic lights on the island. Bonaire is a great for those wanting a laid-back, relaxing getaway minus the large crowds of tourists. Bonaire is also known as a “diving paradise” featuring some of the best scuba diving spots in the world.
